Louise Broad is an emerging designer of innovative accessories, including bridal and occasional wear pieces. Looking to nature for inspiration, her work reveals a love of delicate flowers, blossom, butterflies and organic shapes. The look is ethereal, romantic, and soft-focus glamorous. Louise specialises in nuno felting, a traditional technique that involves fusing ultra-light silk chiffon with merino wool and other natural fibres, to create beautiful, handcrafted textiles. The results are unique, beautifully light, yet warm fabrics which are then draped and stitched as wraps and shrugs, or embellished and shaped into delicate pieces for the hair. Every item is made by hand and can be tailor-made in a particular colour or style. Products include wraps, shrugs and pieces for the hair. The bridal collection features wraps trimmed with nuno felted silk blooms, shrugs embellished with layers of pretty petals and pieces for the hair in soft neutral tones. For occasional wear there are dreamy faded pastel shades and a richer palette of jewel tones with soft ruffles, delicate drapery and pretty nuno felted silk flowers.
